About the Beer of the Month:
Snake Hollow India Pale Ale
from Potosi Brewing Company, Potosi, Wisconsin
Snake Hollow was the original name of the Potosi Hollow and is a brew with real character. According to tradition, an India Pale Ale requires a plentiful addition of hops during the kettle boil. Subsequently during the aging process, additional hops flavorings are introduced, providing fine aromatic hop character. This sturdy ale will satisfy the many hopheads among the new age of beer aficionados.
Beer Advocate has these reviews:
"Flavor opens with malty goodness, bready, substantial and caramely without diacetyl. Middle yields to big bittering and fruity hops. Hops are pineapple and grapefruit. Very juicy, with a nice dose of bitterness. Flavor closes with bitter and piney, resionous hops. Clean and slightly bitter, it washes away the malt sweetness."
"Mouthfeel is spot on. Perfect carbonation and a bit of oiliness on the tongue. Not too heavy, not too light.
I could drink this all night, and it's local..."

Our Newest Addition to Tap Beer Selection:
Schlitz Original Formula from Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
"Ha! the return of the King! this is the new incarnation! Just picked up in Milwaukee. Label doesn't say who's really brewing it. Reminds me of the last version of about 8 or 9 years ago. Has a floral hop character with significant malt. Good for kickin back. It's the Schlitz! I'll drink more."
"Tried this one for nostalgia sake. Bright, straw yellow with plenty of carbonation bubbles rushing up to the top. An egg white cap sits on top. Not much of any hops in the aroma but I do smell some corn. This is a fairly thin body. Kinda crisp but I get a fair amount of sweetness left over at the end. It is quite drinkable and probably one of my top choices when it comes to macro swill."
